SOARing in Minnesota

The SOAR model is to be used to assist individuals who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness. The SOAR Online Course
Soon to Come is utilized in Minnesota to train individuals to assist with Social Security disability applications using the SOAR model.

If you have any questions about SOAR implementation, please reach out to the SAMHSA your SOAR Center Liaison (contact information above).

Need help applying for disability benefits?

The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) contracts with agencies throughout the state to help individuals apply for Social Security disability benefits. Visit their website for more information about their Social Security advocacy services or visit their online directory for agencies that can help or call the Disability Hub at 1-866-333-2466.

Expectations of Participation in SOAR

Only individuals who pass the online course are eligible to submit Social Security disability applications using the SOAR model. After completing the online course, individuals can contact the SAMHSA your SOAR Center Liaison (contact information above) who can provide ongoing technical assistance and guidance on state-specific procedures for SOAR-assisted Social Security disability applications.

If you have any questions about the SOAR Online Course, please reach out to the SAMHSA your SOAR Center Liaison (contact information above).
